8 Simple Way To Relieves Cough

Your cough does not go away? Do not worry, do eight ways to help relieve your cough.

Coughing is the body's way to remove foreign objects or mucus from the airways and lungs. However, sometimes a cough can be very disruptive activity and rest if there is continuous. Here are some tips that can be done to reduce cough:

1. Drink Warm Tea

Upper respiratory tract infections generally cause increased phlegm production. The sputum may irritate and cause coughing. A glass of warm water helps thin the mucus and keep the oral mucosa and respiratory tract remains damp


2. Raise the Head

At bedtime, we recommend adding a pillow so that your head higher. Higher head position is believed to alleviate the symptoms of cough.


3. Do not Smoke

Smoking will only aggravate your condition, because cigarettes cause irritation to the respiratory tract mucosa and make more mucus production. Do not smoke and keep yourself from smokers.

4. Avoid irritants

Dust, perfume, air freshener, fumes, may cause irritation and exacerbate cough.

5. Drink Honey

Honey is often referred to as a traditional medicine to reduce coughing. Try to consume one tablespoon of honey. However, do not give honey to children under the age of 1 year.


6.Medicine

Choose a cough medicine in accordance with the complaint. There are two types of cough medicine, namely:
  • Expectorant
Cough medicine is used to cough up phlegm. Works by diluting and remove phlegm from the respiratory tract.
  • Antitussive
This cough medicine used for dry cough without phlegm. Work by suppressing the cough reflex

7. Rest Enough

The body needs energy to fight bacterial infections or viruses. Berisitrahatlah when you feel sick, do not force yourself to remain active.

8. Consult a Doctor

Immediately consult a doctor if you experience bloody cough, cough for more than two weeks, or cough accompanied by chest pain, fever, and shortness of breath.
